Orion Labauve is haunted by dreams of a frightened child left alone in a house. He believes the child is a ghost because he can't find him with any of his Finding abilities.
While seeking to heal the damage to his arm resulting from the psychic battle with his grandmother, he meets Seren Griffyths, a woman he is drawn to in ways he does not understand.
